Cyber Guarded Ltd is a long-established and independent cyber security company based in Belfast. As an NCSC-approved CHECK Penetration Testing provider, we work with a wide range of clients across public and private sectors.

We’re now looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Cyber Security Apprentice, specialising in penetration testing. This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience, hands-on training, and professional development in one of the fastest-growing industries.

What You’ll Do

You’ll join our technical team and receive mentoring and training as you:

• Assist with infrastructure, web, cloud, and OT penetration testing
• Learn and use professional tools like Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nmap, and Nessus
• Support consultants in reporting vulnerabilities and advising clients
• Contribute to internal tooling and research as your skills grow
• Build toward achieving the Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM) qualification

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need commercial experience, but we’re looking for technically capable and hands-on learners who have already started exploring cyber security independently.

We’re especially interested in candidates who:

• Have used platforms like Hack The Box, TryHackMe, OverTheWire, or completed online labs
• Understand basic networking, Linux/Windows environments, or common security tools
• Are familiar with OWASP Top 10 or have tried simple exploits
• Write basic scripts in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Show strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Are passionate about the offensive side of cyber security

Minimum Requirements

• UK or Irish citizen (or have equivalent status eligible for UK security clearance)
• 5 years of continuous UK address history
• Based in Northern Ireland or able to commute/relocate to Belfast
• Sponsorship is not available
