About the role

 The student will be shadowing the Scheduling and Buying team to gain practical experience in supply chain management, procurement, and scheduling processes. The placement will provide insight into how products and materials are sourced, scheduled, and managed within a company, with an emphasis on efficient buying, stock control, and supplier management. 

Shadowing the Scheduling and Buying Process:

  • Assist in maintaining records of product inventory and tracking scheduled deliveries to ensure timely restocking. 

Supplier Management:

  • Assist the team in maintaining supplier records and communication, helping to track purchase orders and delivery schedules.
  • Observe and help update contact details, pricing, and lead times for suppliers.

Purchase Order Processing:

  • Learn how purchase orders are created, tracked, and managed from suppliers.
  • Assist in confirming delivery dates, reviewing invoices, and ensuring orders meet the requirements specified.

Interest in Supply Chain and Procurement:

  • A genuine interest in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics.
  • Curiosity about how products are sourced, purchased, and scheduled for delivery to meet business needs.

Strong Communication Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Basic IT Skills:
