Alongside this role you will be completing the course Civil Engineering > Level 5-7
This hands on, site based role will give you the opportunity to train and develop competencies across a wide range of Civil Engineering activities working as part of a team of experienced Civil Engineers. Training will include time in a range of related departments offering a broader understanding of how the business operates by getting involved in interesting and challenging work as well as site visits to partner organisations and a number of relevant external courses.
This opportunity may be particularly suitable to candidates based within the areas of, or within close driving distance to Antrim, Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh. P. Keenan Quarries will provide transport to the successful candidate. After initial training you will get responsibility from an early stage in your career and will play a key role in helping deliver projects on time and under budget.
Responsibilities to include;
Ensure all site activities are undertaken in compliance with P. Keenan Quarries policies and procedures
Assist with and ensure setting out of works is done on site to the contract drawings.
Produce weekly / monthly progress reports as appropriate
Communicate programme risks to the management team and maintain records for contractual correspondence
Ensure accurate daily records including site diary are maintained and communicated for labour, material and plant, including subcontractors
Communicate P. Keenan Quarries policies and procedures to site staff and ensure these are being observed
Ensure the management team are kept appraised of variations to the works and any matter likely to have commercial or contractual implications
Assist in the management of and direction of Site Staff and Subcontractors
Assist in the planning of works
Assist in the liaison with Client staff and other project stakeholders including attendance at meetings

Ability to work on initiative with minimum supervision
Hold a full driving license
