Position: Finance Apprentice
Reports to: Financial Controller – UK & Ireland
Role Overview: Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Apprentice role is ideal for an individual with a desire to learn and develop within an experienced and supportive Finance team. The successful candidate will also have development opportunities such as support in attaining professional accountancy qualifications. Based at our Lurgan site, they will be responsible for:
Key Accountabilities:
Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and other reports
Recording and verifying financial transactions using accounting software.
Assisting with bank reconciliations and other financial reconciliations.
Helping prepare VAT returns, payroll, and other regulatory filings.
Processing invoices, payments, and expenses.
Supporting senior accounts with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Maintaining financial records and ensure they are accurate and up to date.
Assisting with audits by providing necessary documentation and preparing financial reports.
Reviewing and reconciling supplier and customer accounts.
Participating in internal and external reporting processes.
Providing general administrative support to the finance team.
Providing support to the Group Financial Planning & Analysis team
Continuously learn and develop accounting skills under the guidance of senior accountants.
Associated Responsibilities:
Attending workshops, seminars, or webinars to stay updated on accounting best practices, regulations, and software tools.
Learning new software tools or techniques that can improve the workflow within the account & finance department.
Identify areas where finance processes can be streamlined and suggesting improvements to increase operational efficiency.

Experience and Training:

Essential Criteria:
GCSE Maths and English is essential
A-Level qualification or equivalent.
Seeking an apprenticeship in Finance or Accountancy, or related field.
