Introduction

We are celebrating 200 years of helping people and businesses in Northern Ireland achieve their ambitions. As Northern Ireland’s biggest bank and with approximately half a million customers, we have a fantastic opportunity to continue to positively impact people and businesses across Northern Ireland.

Who we are

We are Northern Ireland’s leading bank. We aren’t just your run of the mill branch teams; we are a community and pride ourselves on our strong team culture. Not only are we renowned for delivering outstanding customer service, but we are passionate about giving back to our communities through volunteering, we have raised over £100k with our charity partnerships, and we have a long history of supporting local sporting talent through Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ GAA, Ulster Schools Rugby.

Formerly known as Northern Bank,  established in 1824.

Part of Danske Group since 2006 but a separate UK constituted legal entity (Northern Bank Ltd) with our own Board.

What we do

We are guided by a clear purpose - to help our customers, colleagues and society thrive

We have a huge sustainability focus, our climate strategy is clear: go green oursevles and help others go green.

Today we have over 1,400 employees based across our Head Office in Belfast City Centre, our contact centre in Dunmurry, branches spread across NI and three regional business centres.

We have advanced our digital offering while still keep branches, ensuring we still have that 'people' flavour.

We have award wining products – Freedom account 18 – 27 – other current accounts are available – e.g. Discovery for under 18

Employee benefits

We think we are a pretty cool place to work, with a collaborative and fun culture. We pride ourselves on being a truly inclusive team – everyone is welcome! We want our talent to come from a variety of backgrounds, not because it’s the right thing to do but because it makes us stronger.  After all, our customers come from all walks of life, so should our colleagues.

Our Personal Banking teams also have many opportunities to come together to do community volunteering. We believe that when colleagues get the opportunity to volunteer it creates value for society, our business, and the individual.

We also offer an attractive range of flexible benefits centred on wellness, financial, psychological, physical, and social.  Everyone’s circumstances are different, and our benefits can be tailored to your needs.

Our people have rated us ‘world class’ to work for.
