Alongside this role you will be completing the course Surveying and Construction Management > Level 4-6
Role Overview:
To support the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for construction or engineering projects, while developing skills and knowledge through structured training and on-the-job learning.
Key Responsibilities –
Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions by reviewing project drawings, specifications, and other documentation
Carry out basic quantity take-offs from drawings under supervision, ensuring accuracy of measurements
Support the pricing process by obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and helping to track responses
Help compile tender documents, ensuring information is organised, accurate, and submitted on time
Maintain and update estimating records, spreadsheets, and cost data for future use
Attend internal meetings and occasional site visits to develop understanding of projects and construction methods
Work closely with senior estimators and other teams to learn estimating processes and industry practices
We’re looking for someone with:
Relevant A Levels or equivalent qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Good numerical skills with strong attention to detail
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
Good communication and organisational abilities
Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
Positive attitude with a proactive approach to work
Interest in construction, engineering, or a related field
Professional and approachable manner
