About the role

The Organisation Development team is part of the Organisation Development Directorate within Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. The team supports the development of staff and helps improve how the Council works through learning, engagement, and organisational improvement projects. The work includes the following:

  • staff training and development programmes
  • employee engagement and well-being initiatives
  • supporting internal projects to improve council services
  • promoting the Council’s values and organisational culture

The work to be undertaken by the selected pupil will include:

  • shadowing the Organisation Development Officer during meetings and day-to-day tasks
  • helping prepare materials for training sessions and events
  • involvement in live projects such as staff surveys or internal communications
  • assisting with general office duties such as printing, filing, or organising resources
  • completing a short summary or reflection at the end of the placement
