About the role

Day 1: Mechanical & Electrical Work

  • Introduction & Safety Briefing – Normal new staff member induction. Overview of the workshop, H&S, PPE, and workplace expectations.
  • Workshop Tour – Meet the team and get familiar with the work environment.
  • Mechanical Repairs – Learn about vehicle systems and assist with basic repair tasks.
  • Electrical & Diagnostics – Overview of fault-finding techniques and practical experience with diagnostic tools.
  • Hands-on Work & Observations – Support technicians and get involved where possible.
  • Daily Recap & Discussion – Review key takeaways and ask questions.


Day 2: Bodywork

  • Recap of Day 1 & Overview of Bodywork – Learn about body repairs, refinishing, and painting.
  • Hands-on Work – Try out basic bodywork techniques under supervision where possible.
  • Observations – Watch experienced technicians perform repairs.
  • Further Practical Work – Engage in bodywork tasks where possible.
  • Daily Recap & Discussion – Reflect on the day's learning.


Day 3: Vehicle Inspections

  • Recap of Day 2 & Introduction to Inspections – Learn about routine checks and defect reporting.
  • Hands-on Inspections – Conduct vehicle checks and identify issues.
  • Observations – See professionals carry out inspections.
  • Personal Task – Choose an area of interest to revisit or get extra experience in.
  • Final Reflections – Wrap-up discussion and completion of the program.
