About the role

This apprenticeship has the option of an earlier start date.  

During the apprenticeship, you will:

  • Work on the full stack of a modern web application
  • Take part in brainstorming and planning new features
  • Build and improve frontend interfaces and user experiences
  • Develop backend logic, APIs, and database interactions
  • Learn how software moves from idea → development → testing → live production
  • Gain experience with version control, code reviews, and best practices
  • Debug, maintain, and improve existing features
  • Learn and work with new programming languages and frameworks as the platform evolves
  • Understand how real users interact with software in a live environment

What are we looking for

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in programming and a desire to build a career in software development.

Essential:

  • A basic understanding of coding (from education, self-learning, or personal projects)
  • A strong interest in software development and problem-solving
  • A clear keenness to progress and improve as a programmer
  • Logical thinking and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take feedback on board

Desirable (but not required):

  • Exposure to any programming language or web technology
  • Personal projects, coursework, or online learning in coding
  • Familiarity with how websites or applications work

Knowledge of the construction industry is not essential. Industry-specific knowledge will be learned on the job — the focus of this role is learning and developing strong software engineering skills.
